Klaatu barada nikto

So I got around to watching the original The Day the Earth Stood Still the other day and as soon as this phrase came up I chuckled. All these years I thought it was just part of Army of Darkness. So I thought I would post my findings that sci-fi fans have known forever.

IMDB - The phrase "Klaatu barada nikto" has become a popular phrase among sci-fi fans over the years and has been featured in other movies, such as Army of Darkness (1992).

G.I. Joe (2009)

I sure hope this movie is good and that Hollywood doesn't screw it up. About half of my childhood consisted of all things G.I. Joe and if would hurt me dearly if it was bad.

hulu

I got my hulu account a few months ago and now they have come out of beta and have gone public, so anyone can sign up for an account. What is hulu you might ask, here is what they say "Hulu offers U.S. consumers a vast selection of premium video content, on demand, free and ad-supported: full episodes of TV shows, both current and classic, full-length movies, thousands of clips, and much more." I've seen The Big Labowski, The Office, Simpsons, Arrested Developement and Family Guy to name a few available to watch. It is really cool and the best thing is that it's free. Watching movies you have the choice to play in 480P and you can go full screen on any program you are watching.

It's Official HD-DVD is DEAD

Toshiba pulled out of the High Definition format war after suffering several blows in the past weeks that started with Warner Brothers in January switching from a neutral stance to Blu-ray (BD) exclusive, then on Monday Netflix said they will only be carrying BD, and Best Buy said that they would recommend BD to customers, and the final blow came Friday from the largest retailer chain in the world Walmart said that they will no longer be selling HD-DVD players in June. I am not a big fan of the company, but they do have a lot of pull, and when they say they are not going to sell something, then you should know that it is all over. Well, I won't miss the format as you know, but what are you doing, go out and buy a PS3 or stand alone BD player now. Target has a 40GB PS3 for $399 with a free $40.00 gift card.

Rambo (IV) 2008

If you ask me what Rambo is about, I would say it is a "Good old fashion action shoot 'em up". On that note if you didn't catch the newest Rambo installment, you might want to check out this chart I found today and then go get some tickets to see what your missing. I was really impressed by Rambo, even though Stallone is 61, he did a fine job acting and I can see him making another if it does well.
