Star Wars on Blu-ray Announced

We can only hope, not just for fans, but the future dominance of Blu-ray that the Star Wars Saga be released on Blu-ray soon. It's for sure that we will see Star Wars on Blu-ray because 20th Century Fox is one of the backers of the format, but the question is when. I have seen what Star Wars can look like in HD after seeing it on HBO HD. I know lots of hard core fans would go out and buy a Blu-ray player to have the ultimate collection in High Definition. I can see 20th Century Fox putting a hefty $199 price tag on a 6 - 7 disc set and I can see lots of fans forking out the dough to have the ultimate collection even though most of them have spent hundreds of dollars on previous VHS, Laser Disc, DVD collections. Here are a couple of the requirements to entice these potential buyers: 1. Episodes 4, 5, and 6 to be released with both the remastered with no special edition additions (meaning we would like to have Dolby Digital sound, excellent picture quality and be THX approved) and also the special edition version to satisfy both fans and George Lucas. 2: A seventh disc with all of the special features that have been put on any format, being VHS, Laser Disc, or DVD. Sony should get creative with this project by not charging 2oth Century Fox any licensing fees or some kind of incentive to get them to put in on Blu-ray as soon as possible. I don't know what needs to be done, but someone needs to take charge.

Casino Royale on Blu-ray

I don't know why I didn't tell you about Casino Royale on Blu-ray after I watched it because it was just amazing. I never saw it in the theaters, but I was told by everyone, but 2 people I know, that it was awesome. After I read that it was going to be one of the best movies to get on Blu-ray, I went and got it. I thought that The Departed looked good, but I have to say that this movie was incredible. How many more adjectives do I have to drop for you to get what I am saying. Just get a Blu-ray player already and order this movie over at Amazon. One more thing, Casino Royale on Blu-ray is the first Blu-ray movie to sell 100,000 copies and it only took 9 months for the new format to have such an achiever since it took 11 months for Air Force One to sell that many copies back in 1998 after the DVD format was born. Sorry HD-DVD, you are the weakest link and you biggest backer doesn't even believe in you by not offering a HD-DVD player in their new Xbox 360 Elite.

Grand Theft Auto IV

Here is the first look at Grand Theft Auto IV set to go on sale October 16, 2007. This will be the first time that this series will be released on a console other than a Playstation brand. I have to say that GTA 3 on the PS2 was the reason I got hooked on video games after my SNES days. The thing that I wasn't so fond of was the graphics, but the Xbox versions looked so much nicer. I can't wait for this game to come out for the Xbox 360, but it is scheduled to come out on the PS3 at the same time. I don't know about you but I am excited and can't wait after seeing the trailer. Xbox 360 Elite

It's official, Microsoft announced the Xbox 360 Elite tonight. The rumors have been flowing for weeks and everyone was trying to figure out if it was going to be an Aprils fools, but MS delivered the goods. The Elite adds a 120 GB Hard Drive, HDMI output with a HDMI cable. It will go on sale April 29 for the price of $479. The console, controller, headset are all in black and looks real slick. I see lots of 360's ending up on eBay; I know mine will be sold sometime.
